Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Project
There is good news for the residents of Noida Extension because, after three cancellations, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation has again floated the tender for the Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension route.
If all goes well, the construction work of the Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Route will start this year.
By the way, the Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Route from Noida Sector 51 to Greater Noida Knowledge Park-5 is about 15 km long and will have a total of 9 metro stations. But NMRC will build this route in two phases.
Development of Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Project
In the first phase, construction work will be done from Noida Sector 51 to Greater Noida Sector 2. It will be 9.6km long and will have five metro stations, Noida Sector 122, Noida 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Eco Tech 12, and Greater Noida Sector 2. Currently, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has floated the tender for the first phase only.
The second phase will be from Greater Noida Sector 2 to Greater Noida Knowledge Park V. It will be 5.8km long and will have four metro stations, Greater Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 10, Greater Noida Sector 12, Greater Noida Knowledge Park V.
DGM Statement on Tender Process
NMRC, Deputy General Manager, VV Reddy said that this time we are expecting maximum participation in the tender process. The previous tender process was canceled because we need at least three respondents for bids. This time we have taken technical consultation from DMRC for the bids and we hope this time the tender process will be successful. The deadline for completion of this project is 24 months from the date of award of the project to the selected bidder.

The previous tenders and bidding process for Noida Aqua Line Metro Extension Project
Noida Metro Rail Corporation NMRC first floated the tender for Aqua-Line Extension in May 2020 and three companies had bid for it, one of which was not a construction company. Due to a lack of good response, the tender was canceled in July.
Subsequently, NMRC issued the tender again in September 2020 and this time it received bids from two construction companies “Sam India and GR Infraprojects” in November, but the tender was canceled by the end of November.
The third time tender was released in December 2020, which was canceled in February 2021. According to the Times of India, due to the deadline set by NMRC for the major works of the Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension Project in this tender, construction companies were hesitant to participate in it.
